Education is at the core of the Chicago Industrial Arts and Design Center’s Mission. We believe that if you have a basic understanding of material, process, and safety, you will gain confidence to create objects effectively. Our instructors teach a fundamental approach that can be transferred no matter what the object, no matter what the style, and no matter what your experience level. We will help guide you through the process - from idea to design to your desired object.
The CIADC offers continuing education for teens and adults in Casting & Molding, Metalworking & Forging, Technology & Design, and Woodworking all under one roof. Learn how to create with one material and process, or take advantage of all our departments so you can cross-over use the material(s) and process(es) that best fit your project.
We are a year-round facility, offering classes and workshops to fit most people’s schedule. Whether you consider yourself to be an artist, a craftsperson, a hobbyist, a maker, a designer, an innovator, or just curious, come learn (or refine) the skills, methods, and design that will help you realize your 3D goals in a fun, safe, and creative atmosphere!
